In 2021, Nicholson collaborated with the Hong Kong Literary Festival and the University of Chicago Contemporary Migrations Working Group in hosting an online reading by and discussion with the prize-winning British Asian poet, Bhanu Kapil. Kapil’s latest work, How to Wash a Heart (2020), which won the TS Eliot Prize, is a powerful and unsettling reflection on the inhospitality in the context of migration.
